Facebook announced a number of new features, tools, and enhancements to attract online video creators during the International Broadcasting Convention, which recently took place in Amsterdam.
Eagerly awaited by many and amongst the most impactful of the updates, Live API brings the capability to broadcast live videos on a Facebook page, instead of just profiles. Through the Live API, “facetubers” are able to test broadcasting only amongst page administrators before actually airing them to the audience – and this broadcast can last up to 8 consecutive hours.
Another upgraded Facebook feature is Watch Party, which enables real-time video streaming between friends: now pages can schedule them in advance, with a replay function for fans to re-watch them later, and the option to tag business partners – opening up great opportunities for brand content collaboration.
One of the professionals’ favorite tools is Creator Studio, a dashboard where they can post, manage and monetize videos on the social network, including new metrics to track the performance of each video in more detail. Studio also supports languages for auto-captioning, and the possibility to schedule posts for Instagram and IGTV.
The features will roll out across the world in the coming months. Stay tuned and explore the new features after your admin panel has been updated.
